Company Print Heads Holdings is a registered private limited company, co-owned by Zandile Khumalo and Selby Machaba with equal shares. Currently, we do not have any external investors, but we are open to exploring potential opportunities for investment as our business continues to grow.
Print Heads Holdings (Pty) Ltd is a subsidiary of Print Heads (Pty) Ltd, which is 100 owned by Selby Machaba. It was established in 2014 and specializes in canvas printing and t-shirt printing. In 2018, Zandile Khumalo, a former permanent employee of Deloitte, took on the responsibility of managing Print Heads’ social media accounts and customer service on a voluntary basis. During her time at Deloitte, she observed a growing demand for branding services, including graphic design and outdoor branding, as she interacted directly with Print Heads’ clients. Recognizing the need for reliable service providers, we began contracting with large format printing companies and other service providers, adding a markup to their services. However, we faced challenges as many of these outsourced partners failed to meet our expectations, which had a negative impact on Print Heads’ reputation.
As a solution, Zandile proposed the creation of a new company with a legal partnership that would focus on branding, print, signage, and design. In 2020, Print Heads Holdings was incorporated, with Selby investing R170,000 in a large format printer. First Zandile joined the company as a permanent employee and also took out a loan to cover operational expenses. In its fiscal year, Print Heads Holdings generated R904,974 in revenue. The company was recognized by KZN Seda as the most emerging company in KZN, offering printing and branding services while operating in the township.
Print Heads Holdings is a collaborative venture led by Zandile Khumalo and Selby Machaba. Zandile serves as our Operations Manager, bringing her strong analytical thinking, constructive problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to the table. She is a well-organized professional with a high sense of discretion and confidentiality.
Known for her multi-tasking abilities and ability to work within deadlines and time constraints, Zandile is determined and uncompromising when it comes to maintaining the highest quality standards. Her dedication has earned her the nickname “boss lady” among our team. Selby brings over 9 years of experience in the printing industry, where he has successfully managed multiple branches in Kwa Zulu Natal.
His expertise extends to mentoring and supporting small business owners in the printing and textile industry, leveraging his strong network. His leadership skills foster team building and empowerment, and hehas gained valuable insights from diverse industries, ensuring the success of our operations. As a creative and confident Production Manager, Selby excels in devising innovative solutions and driving business growth. Even in times of crisis, he remains composed and enthusiastic, consistently delivering the best services and products to our clients.
Both Zandile and Selby play integral roles in the business. We all contribute to marketing ideas and collectively plan our weekly commitments. Additionally, we work together to create a Print Heads model that doesn’t require us to be physically present in one branch. This involves preparing code of conducts, employee contracts, and floor plans. We also make trips to meet with new clients, building relationships and closing sales.
